  1. Just gonna copy paste what I wrote in another thread on the same subject.

As for ammo, the game sets you up a bit to "waste" ammo if you're not careful. Since assault rifles and smgs are pre set to burst fire when you select to aim at an opponent, it's easy to become lazy and just fire away. Atleast for myself I've yet to get into my stubborn skull that a single shot is just as powerful (if not more) than a burst in this game.

MG's further the "waste" by firing a minimum of (I belive) 9 rounds. That will quickly deplete your ammo if not careful. Really wish MG's had a short burst option aswell.

Yes. I do. Because it means you never played Jagged Alliance game and have some sort of fantasy in your heads and wish this game bend to your will. 🤷🏻 so yeah I find it strange.

Having played JA2 since late 1999, I'm afraid I have to disappoint you.

I was the machine gun gunner of our group in real life when I when was in the army. I shoot the MG 42, which we called MG 3, in Bundeswehr ( Army of Germany after 1945) and I always had my ammo as much as needed.

    What?!

I never had enough ammo for my FN MAG once shooting started! But I always had to much when you went on a march. 😅

  5. Although not as far into the game as @mauricemoss , I'm experiencing the same things, having my starter squad all set up with scoped and suppressed rifles. Really feels like all other weapon types are obsolete at the moment.

The enemies "tactics" of just bull rush at you is getting old by now.

I had really hoped the enemy would seek proper cover at strong points, forcing you to get in there and flush them out. Try to flank your team when attacking etc.

  6. Voted tactical, but only because that is the very core part of the game. The strategic part gives the player the freedom to progress through the world, exploring, conquering and defending sectors as you see fit. I think the game would be a bit boring if there were a set number of maps to conquer in a specific order.

But what really gives the game it's soul is the character, be it you love them or hate them. Still to this day, almost 24 years later, I still get a grin on my face when mercs complement each other for a task well done. These mercs are the reason I keep coming back to JA instead of games with generated characters.

  7. If the original "world-map" could be extended in a suitable direction, maybe a new faction could be included. Greedy Corporation focused on extracting rare minerals, employing high end mercenaries and gear to keep control of the mines and area of control?

Very cliche setup but suitable for the setting.

I can see a damage reduction of up to 5 points for the M14 but no more than that.

Sure, something like that. I don't believe anyone here is calling out for a simulation game and some liberty has to be given for balancing purposes.

But halving/doubling the damage between these 2 guns just defenstrates the realistic feeling of the game to me.

I hoped for a balancing approach were a gun such as the PSG would be a supreme marksman (no not sniper) rifle and nothing else. Whereas the M14 would have the moddability to be set up as everything between a close support weapon to a decent/good marksman rifle.

I kinda blame the lack of a weight system for this. It doesn't matter what caliber a gun uses since the merc spawns ammo from the "bag of holding". Neither does a guns weight seams to affect a merc in any substantial way. I would have liked to see a minimum strength requirement for guns to be used effectively.

    Retcon Raider, legendary voice

Yeah I find it's strange that he hasn't more followers.

Sure his videos aren't as high production as some other streamers and I guess his tempo playing games can be to slow for some. But some of us much rather prefer that to the "high energy" style and constant self importance comments.

Lastly, I think the Predator is one of the best looking aliens of all time. Its overall appearance, its technology, its movement and strength.

Really glad they didn't stick with the original costume.

Don't belive I saw the first Predator movie until I was 12-13 or so. But I had Predator 2 on VHS since as long as I can remember.
