Late game lags and long loading on Series X

I noticed that towards the mid and late game the game runs considerably worse on series x. Long loading times when entering sectors, stuttering and low framerate during map travel and combat. It might be a problem with how many items and squads are on the map? I noticed it especially hard after I went on multiple shopping sprees and bought a lot of ammo and weapons. I was sitting on 3000 rounds for every calibre. The lags during combat got a bit better after I stashed some of the ammo in sectors and not on my squad. But then the lags on the world map got worse. Might be something with how the game tracks items? It also doesn't matter which performance mode I used. Both quality and performance ran equally bad during late game.
