  1. I'm struggling with The Outbreak quest - I cannot find the virus sample in Grimer Hamlet (I19). I fixed the gizmo near Monday the Drunk, talked to him, killed Bella and her lovers, went back to Monday, then I killed all the cadaveres in houses. The party is going on, but I have no sample and Monday isn't telling anything.

What am I missing? Is it a bug, because I fixed the gizmo before talking to him?

  2. Some of the encounters can be done automatically, even the diamond transits. I never used this in JA2, because auto-battle would use up my precious grenades/rockets - now we have an option to make the merc not use them! This greatly reduces grind - allows us to skip battles on sectors we're already familiar with. And gives plenty of ammo - just remember to empty ammo from all the guns that dropped.

    • Once a sector is liberated, it would be nice to rearrange the inventory of all the mercs even if they are not standing next to each other. In my opinion, it's just unnecessary micromanagement to move a merc over to a container that I'm looting with another merc just to give him some stuff.

You can do it, if you enter the Sector Inventory from map view (right click the sector between squad icon and the sector border, couple of pixels wide - or change map filter to Inventory)

  4. So I managed to get the Diesel (thanks to Melliores' tips in other topic). From what I see, there are two options now:

    - give it to Bounce and get a PSG1, which looks like an awesome sniper rifle (I'm currently using M24 and lack of free movement hurts), but get 50% of mine's profits,

    - give it to Siegfried and get 100%.

Given that I like to take my time (always train militia to the best, craft ammo, full-heal, etc) I cannot afford to have my profits cut in half. Unfortunately, after killing Bounce, the PSG1 doesn't drop.

Has anyone found a way to get both? 🤗

  5. In order to get the Landsbach mine, I need to win the fist fight against the Bonecrusher. I managed to win against Dr something (with no dmg), but the most further I got with Bonecrusher was to land 3 hits to the neck, with one being crit. Then he just lands 3 crits to my guy and I lose. I tried fighting as Steroid (sucks) and Barry (better), but it seems like no matter what I do I'm destined to fail.

I recall in JA2 one could "cheat" and equip the Knuckle Dusters during the fight, but I didn't find one in JA3.

How do I win this? I cannot take any buff items, nothing. Do I really need to hire a Legendary merc to complete this quest?

  6. Things were progressing well - I had secured control over starting Island, Fleatown, and Camp la Barriere, managed to build a sizable militia there, including elite members.

My plans to advance Pantagruel were disrupted when Biff from MERC sent out a distress call. I responded, succeeding in saving him (which costed most of my ammo and resources). Then I went to confront Santiago at the refugee camp. I found all its inhabitants - including a few quest characters I had previously rescued but not yet visited - dead. I was accused and ordered to be eliminated and using pretty much all of my stuff I stood my ground (with no casualties, yay!)

However, in the aftermath of the camp incident, while I was licking wounds, about five assault groups seized ALL MY HARD-WON territories.

I'm wondering if I inadvertently triggered a high-level questline? I did make a short visit to the east island (sanatorium), just before Biff's plea for help.

I'm curious to know if any of you experienced something similar - is this just part of the game's challenge?
