Would you say that explicitly all additions made in 1.13 (outside of basic QoL) go against your idea of 'the way to go'?

i didnt realise 1.13 got hate. I can't say I like a lot of the things that 1.13 attempts to do but even base JA2 is a more in-depth turn based tactics game than a lot of modern descendants of the genre. I cant agree with the sentiment that 1.13 is the wrong direction when base JA2 is still miles ahead as one of the most mechanically deep turn based tactics game.
