  1. Since perks are based on stat thresholds, and those particular examples are dealing with the interrupt mechanic, that seems fine. But probably depends if you can still interrupt with no remaining AP. Too hard to say without playing the game.

  2. No problem with perks or traits, but talents could be completely busted depending on what they do (extra movement for example is usually op in these types of games). Appreciate that talents give mercs uniqueness, but needs to be carefully balanced and not outside the realms of reality.

  3. JA2 mercs were still one-dimensional stereotypes. They had a few lines each and no character development. Their stereotype WAS their character. You're never getting Baldur's Gate level writing in a Jagged Alliance game. And that's perfectly fine in a game with 40+ playable characters.

I'd like to see that. I even enjoy reading or seeing interviews that cover older games. I don't know if it is just something that older gamers think as a form of reminiscing, or whether older games were often made with more passion and fun. So much now seems more…corporate.

The cost (and time) of development was much lower back in the 90's.

I think they have to insert JA in the real world, and set it nowadays.

It'd probably be a struggle to successfully parody modern day merc personality stereotypes without offending someone in today's climate.

  6. I would go a step further and hide even more info, such as crit chance, enemy HP and damage reduction %. It doesn't make sense you would know these things if you don't know CtH. You shouldn't need to know exact numbers to make informed decisions in JA. JA isn't exactly a min-maxing type game and that's what I like about it. You shouldn't have to make a "crit build" or "DPS glass cannon" or "high HP tank" or some rubbish like that, it's completely unrealistic in JA.

  7. 1. They said there would be vendors, so don't care if there's no Bobby Rays.

    2. Not a big issue for me, more of a UI thing for immersion.

    3. Yes. Shared inventory is good for other games, but not JA. Every merc should carry their own ammo/gear.

    4. Not a deal-breaker, but yes preferable to have magazines over boxes of ammo.

    5. I don't really mind crafting.

    6. More guns is unnecessary if most players end up just min-maxing and picking the "best" gun anyway.

    7. Yes, I like sunglasses, NVGs, etc. Dunno if canteens are in the game, but I liked those too.

    8. Not too important for me, sounds like something that can be added later/modded in.

    9. Hacking things to get money seems fine to me.

    10. No idea how it is atm.

    11. Also no idea how balanced it is without personally playing.

    12. Yes. QoL is always good.

    13. Also yes, to special abilities. But perks can stay. JA2 also had perks (night ops, lockpicking, stealth, knifing, autoweapons, etc).

    14. I won't say no to more mercs, budget pending.

    15. Low priority for me.
