Would you say that explicitly all additions made in 1.13 (outside of basic QoL) go against your idea of 'the way to go'?

No. But I (again let me say it loud again - it’s for ME and MY OWN opinion) don’t need 1.13 at all. Once I ‘discovered’ (or really been told about it here) Straciatella mod I completely dumped 1.13 and never looked back.

another patch no important changes no Bobby Rays no tact pause no camouflage etc.

Just go somewhere else. You suck your attitude suck and the level to which you whine is so off the charts. Please. Sell the game. I’ll give you money. Just go away.

i didnt realise 1.13 got hate.

I can't say I like a lot of the things that 1.13 attempts to do but even base JA2 is a more in-depth turn based tactics game than a lot of modern descendants of the genre. I cant agree with the sentiment that 1.13 is the wrong direction when base JA2 is still miles ahead as one of the most mechanically deep turn based tactics game.

Sure it is. Agreed 100%.for me and let me say it loud FOR ME - 1.13 isn’t the way to go 😉

all of those are automated in game.

-mine clearing- there is no mini game to defuse a mine

-fight- you click someone automatically delivers damage or misses

-shooting- you are neither aiming nor pulling the trigger, it is done automatically by your mercs

-scouting- it is a SAT OP results in scripted events

-Interactions with NPCs, mercs automatically decide what they want to say

-inventory management- Mercs automatically pick up items and put them in suitable slots

    0/10, very cheap baiting attempt.

oh kiddo. You don't even understand what automation mean in video game context.

no thanks, i dont take advise from zoomers or 12 year olds or marketing damage control. Practice on your  "bitching" in mean time. It will help you with your life in future

See I told you already. Just because it is in your head kiddo, doesn't make it real. This is generally called projecting. It's ok in general but maybe get it checked. Could lead to problems if and when you start growing up.

Very interesting i didnt know ammo mechanics are important as much as shirt colors for you, but hey that gives us context to understand why you cant comprehend basic discursive speech patterns.

Yes shirt colour in a game is as important as ammo mechanics in a game - as both are equally unimportant and make no difference in my life. One day, maybe in future, maybe when your kid is little older, you'll understand it - I would hope at least.

Didnt even know fans had that much ethos on your will, but explains a lot. "truth" he says, come back here when you finish reading Foucault. You are 10 years early to push philosophy in your discussions, maybe you should start "bitching" a little bit for practice

Sorry kid, I am not going to engage in ad personam flame with someone like you. Grow up.

I am not going to go over the tediousness of buying refunding, because you will outright label it as "your" problem. Let me return the favor, dont respond to people if you cant handle criticism. I am doing what i am doing to improve the product and the community and wouldnt care what marketing damage control teams would think about it. "Bitching" about it every turn IS sole reason WHY people seek quality. I am not "bitching" about Steroids shirt color, i am "bitching" about simple stuff that could be AND should be done to make something better. It is not personal taste, it is logic.

You dont like it, fine play your game have fun, why are you even "bitching" about other people "bitching"

You pretty much bitching about the things as important as Steroid shirt colour. It is what it is. Its not about handling criticism - I have zero interest or stake in the publisher or developer. What you doing is not improving the product - its really bending it to your own vision in your head. This is something many fans can't handle -  just because YOU have it in your head doesn't really make it universally recognised solution or 'truth' that everyone and everything should follow. It makes sense for you - thats great. Hope there will be mod's like 1.13 previously and you'll be able to play your version of game - I am cool with it. But I am not super cool with bunch of die hard fanatics trying impose their version of 'truth' on me just because you feel entitled.

You are just describing what lazy game design means, this is no justification for dumbing down everything to top down cawadoody. Problem is when it is difficulty related fanbois go over "realism" when it is not convenient it is for "fun". It can be both and neither too. I am not going to give credit or praise to something that doesnt deserve it. If we dont demand better games they wont produce better games, that is how market works

Last time I checked playing this game, or games in general, isn't really compulsory. If you don't like it - which I appreciate, can happen - just don't. Don't buy it, don't play it. Problem solved. Bitching about it at every turn - for simple reason of personal taste wont make any difference.

No dude i am just being critical. Bullets uses "realism"(to craft something you pass time) weapon mods dont use real world physics or science for arcade reasons. Which way is it then? Either put realism for gun porn part or dont use it ever. This is why people keep mentioning TRADING, a core mechanic to game play. DUDE even JA2 gave you option to sell weapons on sector stahs for %5 percent of their price.

These kinds of small design choices reappear over and over and pile up over time which is: Release the game faster or forget your contract bonus, AKA corporate greed

    yes. For dramatic people.

Its just a game - it makes very little difference if you find it or 'craft' it. Probably little less work for devs - hence the decision. Non of this game is realistic. It shouldn't really be...and it makes no difference.

Yes you cant sell guns - you can make them into parts and then make shit out of parts. Is it perfect of ideal? not at all - is it a massive problem? Really not. Its just one of the mechanics of the game.

After all it is Jagged Alliance - not a simulator of *insert some name* PMC Company.

How  crafting and modding weapons works is lazy design in this game. All mods should be crafted like bullets or all bullets should be crafted like mods, THEN AGAIN they specially designed this(removing trade and such) to create sense of "difficulty". Weapon mods should be removable or get destroyed with gun condition. Not very hard design choices, all overlooked by corporate greed

    you are being little dramatic.

Either way there would be massive number of unhappy people.

It works its fun. Its just a game - alos not supposed to be realistic.

I only miss some version of Bobby.

Neither is this game Tropico Alliance really a JA game. It shares some similarities but also lends features from other games.
I mean, they couldn't even remake the Mercs in a fashionable way to start with; the heart & soul of classical JA.

lets agree to disagree. Mercs are absolutely perfect - this game has heart and soul of Jagged Alliance - executed better than anything before - but with a number of flaws that can be addressed.

Crafting ruins the game for me. Spending 30 parts to create 30 bullets when silencer costs 20 parts??? Lol.

Actually it depends on the cartridges.
it takes 10 parts and 1 gunpowder to make 30 7.xx cartridges

Takes 10 parts and 1 steel pipe to make silencer or 20 if you don’t have pipe and you need to improvise.

  13. actually, cartridge making is a very easy process (in real world) just time consuming and requiring a bunch of tools. Anyone can do it. If anything - they did get it very much right in the game.

I don't see how the current system of mines being detected and being disarmed with one click by an explosives expert like Barry is bad game design or takes too long @sandman25dcsss. The beach infront of DeeDee can be cleared within a few minutes, not time-consuming at all. It couldn't be any easier. 😆

For me Barry also never steps on a mine when he detects one just like @Skaldy mentioned.

same here. Barry, Nails and Red - tried with all 3 and they always stop when mine is detected.

I didn't play it, but I read that discovered mines had a blue flag and mercs would avoid stepping on them. Is it not true?

In TBA mode they would mostly avoid. In RTS mode they would walk into mines like donkeys all the time, also would always pick the worst possible route to any location etc. Disarming traps and mines would sometimes end with explosion even with explosives on 85+. Part of the charm.

I love JA2 dont get me wrong - but level of idealising and worship its getting is actually funny. JA (1 and 2 and everything in between) had a gazzillion flaws and problems neither of these games was perfect.

You don't need to gather plants/parts/weapons/ammo and disarm mines. But it is optimal to do so. Bad design is when optimal behavior is unfun, trivial or time-consuming.

Your examples are quite funny as there is a mod to increase travel speed in all 3 stances because it is not fun to spend so much time on travel, there is Livewire to remove scouting, it is quite easy to explode on mine after just discovering it. It is bad design you know, I even recall reading JA2 didn't allow that.

Mercs would get damaged by mines and traps in JA2 all the time. you would know if ever played.

Anyhow, I dont see any of it as bad design - its a choice I am given - I can scrap shit, or I can ignore it, there is SOOOOOO much shit thrown at you all the time it is hard not to be overwhelmed by amount or parts and ammo and explosives and money.

    Gives intel

    Gives nades and magazine

    Gives XP for talking

as i said, encouraged if not "forced"

if she is killed it has same effect on the outpust as intel - she is as good dead.

Magzine is just +1 to explosives - no use to Red or Barry

    Gives Xp for dying too.

Absolutely dont see why would I be encouraged or "forced" to de-mine the field or keep her alive. Barry makes so much explosives I don't even know what to do with it anymore - and shaped charges are better than anything.
    I know - you have ammo issues - I don't I swim in ammo.
