  1. Just wondering what people in here would rate the game, based on what we have seen so far. I'll toss in mine first: 2/5. I can only see very little similarities to the classic Jagged Alliance games for it being called 'a successor'. I simply hate the cartoonish and goofy art-style instead of the game having a more serious and adult approach. I can live with the 3D setting and the 3d person view action scenes they have chosen but at the same time this diminishes the classic feel about the game. It would work if this would be the next Desperados but for Jagged Alliance it just doesn't appeal to me nor triggers any nostalgic feelings.
  2. This game is some sort of mixup of Desperados, Commandos and Jagged Alliance, which is o.k., but unfortunately suffers greatly from the comical (read: downright laughable) art style and some bad game mechanics (third person view action?) they have chosen. I've shown the footage to a few fellow JA (Classic) fans and they were all digusted about the way it looks and presumably plays. This game should not wear the JA name tag.
  3. I'm gonna add Mia Kalifa to the squad ASAP. That'll be fireworks right from the start..
  4. I wonder if anyone at Haemimont has ever played JA1 and/or JA2 (incl. JA:DG)? If so, who would ever approve this current art style and mutiliation of characters? They would do justice to those classic JA games by renaming this game and just completely let go of the Jagged Alliance theme and it's original characters. Because, no offence here, this game has very little to do with Jagged Alliance. It's an insult really. Like most of the other failed attempts before.
  5. Yeah guess you're right. I'm just growing old and live on nostalgia when it comes to games. In fact, I haven't bought a game since 5 years since none of the crap they produce these days inspires me. It's either all been done before, reworked in a very bad way, stuffed with high res visuals (which I don't like) but lacking storylines or combinations of those. The last games I played intensively were COD2, COD:MW (original one) and H&G. I find myself having way more fun with classics suchs as Stronghold Crusader, Settlers 3D and of course JA2 these days. All successors failed to trigger me and basically most of them horribly failed on the game market too. Something I expect this game will do to, having it end up in a Steam Sale within a year. Might pick it up then for a fiver but no way I would pay 45 bucks for it.
  6. Shadow.. hands down. Can conquer the whole of Drassen town with him (alongside my IMP) due to being hard to spot, extremele agile, greath health and dexterity. I like his Bob Lee Swagger type of style. Solitaire with his rifle, cool and never panics. Magic and Ice follow close after.
  7. Almost checked them all 😞 I expected JA3 becoming nothing more than an Isometric - straight to the point rework of JA2 with a new storyline, but the more I get to read and see (especially the awful art style, 3rd person / zoom view and unrecognizable characters) the less enthousiastic I get. Perhaps time to move on and stop spilling my salt here :D
  8. None of them are well drawn. The whole art style is completely off and something you have seen in a dozen of other modern games. Way too cartoonic for a game that is set in a war torn country. Oh well, just fired up JA2 again and on my way to San Mona, steal KingPin's cash so I can afford hiring Shadow. I can resign the rest of them then 😄
  9. I'd dare to say Team Fortress even.. Such a shame. I could see through some clunky mechanics but not through these complete flopped character portraits. The characters is what made up for like 80% of the fun in Jagged Alliance I'd say. The game designer really made some huge mistakes in this matter and should be held accountable for if this whole game fails to deliver.
