Blood & some gore effects is totally a must on JA3. The topic of the game itself its about blood money, blood diamonds.🩸💎

But somehow i think it will be a lil more childish way (like on JA Rage with nearly none blood or gore effects), even on the trailer when our enemy got hit by Ivan, he says "that hurt" like a bee stung him lol, instead would like to hear more agony like sounds like aaarrggh, to express more realistic pain expression.

There should be also some gore effects that appear rarely in the game so when it happens it can be something special to us.

A fun gun battle without blood (the blood should be staying on the ground, water or when we make headshots splash some blood to the walls) & gore is somehow no brainer to me.

Bodies should be also laying on the ground for days, when we comeback to the sector after few days the body should start to decompose and be surrounded with crows (since we are in Africa obviously with vultures).

One of the funniest things ever in JA is when you pop a baddies head and Trevor goes "Strewth...I'm about to lose me brekkie!"  Or really just knowing that once you shoot Pablo things go better for your gun shipments. It's the small details that really made JA2 shine as a game.

I used to shoot him as well.. but in my last playthroughs, I give him a ten and then I never lose packages.

I'm not certain if both outcomes change much.. probably town loyalty which can make a difference if you need to train militia very early. Same goes for Doreen, I usually talk her down her post and she quits.. a few times I would just shoot her.

There are a ton of small easter eggs like that. Like if you shoot Shank in front of his parents in Balime his mother has a heart attack. Or if you put down a porno mag in a combat zone an enemy will investigate and pick it up making it easier to pull in hallways.

Maybe I'll make an easter egg thread and see if there are some that I missed.

I've certainly missed so many of them in that case.. most of the ones I know I go off memories of reading things back in the early 2000's. And even then, some I've just never even tried.. this game has so many little hidden things.

So if you were to make one, I would probably learn a whole bunch of new things I never knew! 😊

I never knew about those! The porn mag idea is funny. JA2 had lots of great little bits of humour that, added together with everything else, made the whole game such a joy to play. For some reason, I always remember the over the top sound effects when you visited the brothel, complete with black screen and a smiley face in the middle. Thinking about it now, who were the voice actors that stood in the sound booth and had to come up with those noises!?

JA2 had a lot of similarity with Fallout 2. Apart from both being isometric games with turn-based combat, there were lots of easter eggs and random encounters in Fallout 2. Some people didn't like the pop culture references but because the game was never really serious anyway, along with the 2D graphics, it was fun to see Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Star Trek, Star Wars, Rocky, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Magic: The Gathering and so many other references. You couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of seeing such stuff.

The gore element was there too and way more than JA2. I remember the decapitations, falling off roofs and flying back in a hail of automatic fire were present in JA2. I considered them to be a neat little surprise when they happened. Fallout 2 was overkill. Gibs flying everywhere, huge holes in bodies, being turned into green sludge, splotchy and watery sound effects when someone got riddled with bullets, two smoking legs left behind and the rest of the body nowhere to be seen, even electric disintegrations starting with hair standing on end and turning into sherbet. The graphics artists had a field day, along with the sound effects creators and even whoever wrote the damage description text.

You could get away with more back then, as the graphics were just 2D sprites and far less graphic than any Mortal Kombat, Moonstone or early '90s beat-em-up. It was black humour and from an era where there was tongue-in-cheek behaviour and daring gratuitousness (which the tabloids often complained about). As the 2000s came in, 3D became more common with the rise of capable graphics cards and things got more serious (look at how FPS games from the 90s contrast in style and theme to those at the start of the 2000s). That cartoonish gory humour doesn't really exist now except for certain games.

I can't remember if JA2 allowed you to turn off the extra gore but Fallout 1 and 2 definitely did. If such visuals appear in JA3, with its completely different graphics and from a different era, I would think there could be a setting to tone it down, if desired.

@Solaris_Wave I didnt find Fallout that brutal, the effects there are like cheap Mortal Kombat fatalities lol.

May Jagged Alliance 2 had only few death effects but when it happened we was like "OMG", "Wow". Of course if they added some more deaths it would be more cool as some animations should come more rare so it can be also special for us.

Hopefully in Jagged Alliance 3 there will be different kind of deaths and some realistic gore as well, the blood and gore we saw so far from the trailers is nothing special imo.
