  1. I was wondering if the character likes and dislikes were the same as JA2. I know there is a spreadsheet for JA2 that has these listed and if they are the same, it could be used for reference.
  2. JA3 is not just a change from 1.13. In stock JA2 you had multiple head slots, stamina, weight for items, mercs had to carry their own ammo, etc. All 1.13 really did was add different backpacks and customizable chest and leg rigs with pouches. Everything else was in the stock JA2 game which has now been stripped out of JA3. This is a regression from the inventory system is stock JA2. You can see the stock inventory system here and see how weight and having to carry your ammo is a factor.
  3. I've been saying all along that the inventory system is just to basic. They should have taken inspiration from JA2 1.13 and done inventory similarly. Sure we didn't need custom vests and pouches but they should have factored in weight and size of items, made mercs carry their own ammo instead of this magical squad supplies allowing mercs to carry infinite ammo, there should be multiple slots on head for helmet and NVG's/sunglasses, allowed different sized backpacks, etc. Suiting up your mercs and outfitting them for certain roles adds a lot to the gameplay IMO and they really stripped this part of the game down and made it way to simple. ๐Ÿ˜”
  4. Interesting. Looks like maybe they reworked the AP system.
  5. It's not that I don't have the right friends, it's more that I just prefer to play games alone. I used to play a lot of multi-player FPS games back in the day but I don't feel like listening to annoying loud mouths spewing garbage or racist shit anymore. ๐Ÿ˜„ When I game it gives me a chance to just chill and do things at my own pace, come and go as I please, and I have no obligiation to talk to anyone unless the wifey needs me for something. A lot of times I'll fire up a chill game, throw on a podcast or documentary in the background and just zone out. Probably has a lot to do with me getting older as well. Quite relaxing though I must say. Recently been playing another Haemimont game while I wait for JA3 called Stranded Alien Dawn. Enjoying it and it's soaking up a lot of hours while we all wait for the JA3 release.
  6. Same. We haven't seen or heard any info on this yet for some reason.
  7. I believe it was this part, or at least partly. They may have done it to cut corners as this system might be easier to implement and just figured nobody would care. Unfortunately, the majority of us do care and don't want shared inventory. I'm sure they have had plenty of feedback, including during the beta, on how basic the inventory system is over the last few months but it appears they're sticking with this one I guess. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
  8. Your joking right? You think it's realistic for soldiers to have infinite ammo with no weight penalty? I'm sure real soldiers would love to have an infinite amount of ammo that they don't have to carry on their person but that's not reality. The penalty in JA2 was a weight penalty which affected movement speed and stamina. No thanks. Don't get me wrong, I like Xcom games. However, we don't want this to be another Xcom game. Doing all the as you say "busy work", is not busy work for a lot of us and is part of what made the JA series so great.
  9. Do you have some recent footage of these two points you made since I've have not seen this behavior at all? Here's my experience. 1. Squad inventory is automatically split if you split a squad. Maybe this changed very recently but I haven't seen any videos with this change. 2. Maybe I should have been more specific. Anything in squad inventory can be accessed at any time by anyone whether in combat or not. Note squad inventory is only ammo and meds and such, not weapons or other gear. So you never actually have to have ammo in your mercs inventory as it can be pulled right from squad inventory when reloading. I definitely wouldn't call squad inventory QoL changes. It's very unrealistic to be able to carrying thousands of rounds of ammo with no weight penalty. It's as if there is magic carpet flying around with your mercs all the time just loaded with ammo boxes.
  10. Yeah, shared inventory is a terrible system. I really have no idea why they would implement this. There is literally no weight penalty for anything in the game, especially ammo as you can magically carrying thousands upon thousands of bullets in shared inventory
  11. It's accessible all the time and costs no AP. This is even how bullets are pulled when you reload. As far as we know, shared inventory is hard coded into the game and there is no option that will change that. It's a base function of the game. There are options for difficulty levels, immediate death vs downing of mercs along with saving options and such, but nothing in regards to inventory.
  12. Well no, but I think @Solaris_Wave was just exaggerating a little to reinforce his point. I just wish the devs hadn't implemented this whole crafting mechanic and left weapon mods the way they were in JA2 where you could only craft insignificant mods and purchased or swapped the rest. Oh well, it's to late now I guess.
  13. All weapon mods and ammo are crafted with scrap parts but you also need some additions to parts such as gunpowder to craft ammo and some other parts to craft certain weapon mods.
  14. This is exactly the problem we will all have. Also the crafting mechanic has a roll success chance system based on the mechanic skill of the merc, so another thing to consider is all the scrap your wasting on failed upgrades due to this roll success chance system. The other problem with this roll mechanic in the crafting system is it will lead to people save scumming so they don't end up wasting scrap when the crafting fails. We all know save scumming is not a fun gameplay mechanic but if your burning through all this scrap just to mod weapons your constantly coming across since you can't transfer weapon mods, then your going to need all the scrap you can get.
  15. Down to earth makes sense and I'm all for that as well. Making a scope for a FAL using scrapped parts from an AK47 isn't really down to earth though. ๐Ÿ˜
  16. I didn't mind it in JA2 because it was done in moderation. There really wasn't all that much you could craft other than suppressors that wore out, springs for better fire rate, barrel extenders, etc. You could still purchase weapon mods in addition though and swap them between weapons in JA2 which is simply not possible at all in JA3. ๐Ÿ™
  17. It really is a bizarre system. Wish they'd ditch crafting altogether.
  18. She is found down in Port Cacao I believe or one of the adjoining sectors so not that far in.
  19. Any images of Granny acting as a vendor? I've seen Granny several times now on YouTube but never actually selling weapons. Maybe it just wasn't implemented at the time and still needed to be added.
  20. I'm still very hesitant to say that arms dealers are actually going to be a thing since after all these dev diaries and after all the beta footage YouTubers put out, we still have yet to see a single vendor. It just seems a little weird that we still haven't seen a single vendor after all that. Not even so much as an image of weapons for sale. ๐Ÿค”
  21. I'm actually starting to think that selling weapons may not even be a thing since we haven't seen this done yet and the crafting mechanic they implemented in which your scrap weapons for parts to craft weapon mods. I hope I'm wrong though.
  22. Added them. Thanks for the info! Possible I made a typo so I switched it to 80 and no problem at all! I can't wait till release so I can actually fill out all the stuff that's missing. I'll have to double check all the values after release to make sure I didn't make any further typos.
  23. Boats are automatic and you can only leave land from a port area. It works automatically and requires no special interaction. Basically works exactly the same as moving across land except like I mentioned, you can only enter the water from a port area. As for your other questions, I believe the answer is no to all of them but not 100% sure.
  24. I hear arguments like this all the time but they always miss the point. Ok, say they hired two guys just to work on the multiplayer part of the game and for the sake of argument, let's say the rest of the game is worked on by 6 guys (I'm just picking numbers at random here). So sure, those two multiplayer guys couldn't have contributed to the rest of the game since that's not their "specialty". However, if they weren't hired to implement multiplayer, that would have freed up money and time to hire 2 more guys to work on the rest of the game. So you would have 8 guys working on the game instead of 6.
  25. I have zero interest in multiplayer, and I mean zero. The gaming market is flooded with multiplayer/co-op games already and I think it just takes time and resources away from making this game even better. That being said, I am curious how this will work in JA3. I don't get the attraction for co-op in this style of game but I'm sure it will make some people happy and they'll enjoy it. Would have liked to have seen that time and effort go into something else though.
