Just spotted another error with the screenshot of the Dragunov SVD. It says it is capable of burst fire. No, it isn't! It is semi-auto only.

Has Kalyna modified it?

Good catch. If so, that would be a radical modification.

Then again, the game is still in progress. It may just be there for testing purposes and not intended to go live.

And that's one of the many things I like most about Jagged Alliance 3. You can see your weapons from all angles and modify them however you want.

I really hate the way weapon mods are handled though. Mod a weapon with scrap and can't transfer mods to another weapon. Would have much preferred the ability to buy weapon mods like JA2 and put them on whatever weapon I want.

I agree about the crafting of weapon mods. It makes more sense to be able to buy weapon attachments and fit them on compatible guns. Sure, JA2 had the facility to get several, otherwise everyday items, and modify a gun internally, but I always saw it as a bit of a gimmick. It seems like JA3 is taking that minor crafting aspect of JA2 and going all out on it. Are we seriously going to be crafting optics, bipods, triggers and muzzle brakes from scrap found in the field? Who performs these tasks? Your mercs, or specialists that, despite their talent, live in Grand Chien?

The special weapon mods you could create in JA2 were quite good. You could reduce the AP cost of a gun, extend its range or both on the same gun. Since those parts were very limited you had to figure out which guns to mod as they were permanent. I liked putting both range extension and AP reduction on the Automag III's which made them quite juicy when Fox used them.

It's like another layer of loot progression/rarity because it's special stuff for your favorite guns. I don't think that's a bad thing unless the bonuses are extreme. In JA2 they were noticeable but not game altering so I would hope for a similar balance in JA3.

I agree that it was a fun little thing to do to improvise the use of certain basic items and improve your weapons. It was far fetched but no more than some other little parts of JA2.

I am just concerned about whether that part of JA2 has been made the primary upgrade functionality of JA3. Surely, you would order in such items as optics, match triggers and bipods from a third-party supplier. Some of those things are precision made and all are made in factories.

Maybe Haemimont could clarify what upgrades are made from scrap? Third-party suppliers and marketeers haven't really been discussed yet, other than the confirmation that a Bobby Ray's equivalent will not be in JA3.

I disagree, crafting weapon mods would not work.

Basic mods, ok. Advanced mods? Not only would it not be realistic, at least how I understand it, but it would also be an inferior alternative to having to find or shop for them which is much harder but also a lot more rewarding and cool.

I think that's a valid concern and I hope crafting isn't the only upgrade path. I would like to see it done like JA2 where some are found/bought, others are made and there wasn't any overlap in functionality. It's also possible some weird gadgets could be made like JA2 had but as long as it remains supplementary or a novelty instead of a main upgrade path I think that would be best.

This is a special " unique " version , no regular dragunov - runs on Ak ammo and comes with burstfire . Found in a m.e.r.c backpack during pressbeta .

at  2:45:25  is the backpack
