  1. I don't know, man. I sunk close to hundred hours into this game since release, and I'm having fun. Can't be that bad. And regarding the good place: so they stood around inside with their shotguns. I thought they were trying to be clever and lure me into CQB. Didn't work out well for them. I had a shotgun, too.
  2. Actually, i love all the little stuff they put in there, and the exploration. Like infected, and Charon's boat. Or the Teddy bear guy. Or Schliemann.
  3. Best: combat. Worst: inventory system. No sorting, merging, can't easily equip-switch 2 items for one two handed gun if inventory is full...
  4. Playing this on a machine that was high end in 2015. Has a GTX 980M in it, 32GB RAM, Core i7. Game runs fine. Playing on High. Slows down a bit when there's fog at night time, otherwise no problems. Fans running like crazy, though.
  5. For me this didn't work. I was well over one year into the game, and when for the first time i got close to the eagles nest the event triggered superfast and was finished before i could actually get there.
  6. I'm just gonna post what I'm finding as i play, so we can see if it's always the same. C20U: 2 Mrk, 2 Health, 1 Mec A16: or A17, 2 Skill books
  7. Do i get this right, melee doesn't need markmanship?
  8. Anyone have a list of skill book locations? Or can we put on together?
  9. Hm. You've got way better skill numbers for your imp. Did you start with the vanilla skill point maximum, or do have a mod to let you freely distribute? I play Commando as well. but my imp is by herself and can't be taught by other mercs. Too bad practicing a skill ain't possible anymore.
  10. Ok, i can confirm my Imp is still learning. Gained 2 Ldr and 1 dex since I started this post. Wish she'd gain more Mec as well, with all repairing she's doing...
  11. Is there a list of all skill book traders? And they replenish weekly?
  12. Is there a limit on skill improvement? My imp is level 10 now, which is max level, which is fine. I'm saving perks for later, when she's good enough. But I haven't seen a skill improvement in a long time. The last one was a health +1 like ages ago. I'd hate it if she couldn't get any better anymore. If that were so, what's the point of playing on? Can anyone confirm yes/no?
  13. Wouldn't recommend going in without mec skill.
  14. I'd love a 'been there, done that' indicator, too.
  15. Thanks for the info. That's helpful. While the AI certainly is not the smartest, they don't always stay put. In my experience sometimes they come and rush me, and sometimes they stay away. Same fight, reload. Not sure why.
  16. Finishing the game. In mine after clearing the Island I went SPoiler ahead Down to the Prison. Hadn't been there before in any playthrough. There were dudes in there that just stayed inside, trying to force me into close quarter battle. They had shotguns. Now i have a shotgun, too. Much better than grenades. Im considering going straight over to SPOILER where the Colonel is soon, to see what happens.
  17. I hope that's not true. I always get perverse joy out of turning losers into superfighters. Remember Shank? And in my current game I'm counting in Agility going up to 80 eventually (currently 72 I believe).
  18. How did you do that with 44 strength?
  19. I don't need the ai to be too clever. They rush me when I'm outnumbered. They try to flank me when I'm outnumbered. The beginning is so much fun. I wish almost dead enemies would be hampered more. They're just as dangerous as healthy ones. Toward the end, you're right, you can just sit there and let them come. I did the sector with thr colonel that way: 6 snipers prone on the road. But hey, by then it had been boring for a while already. Hadn't found a cool new gun in ages. My guys didn't miss their shots. Outposts taken, so few patrols. Do i started over. If it's too boring play with fewer mercs.
  20. This is how it's going. Got a Gewehr 98 with suppressor and prism scope. The bunker was interesting. I silently knifed the dude behind the door, but then someone saw the body. 3 guys come running. I had just leveled up and now have the grenade/free move perk. So i tossed one and ran, and for one turn no one followed. Lucky i guess. Made it through unscathed, but later discovered 2 more dudes in the back room. High mec skill is a must, I'd say. How does one play solo without medical skill, i wonder.
  21. Well, I wanna do it with the IMP. I started over, because I need more Mec to modify weapons, 30 wasn't enough. I went with CQC and Stealth for Perks this time. Hope that wasn't a mistake. Zero explosive, but 30 medical, so I can heal myself. Str 70 instead of 60, for more room. 30 Ldr, 85 Wisdom. Rest 65 or higher. We'll see how it goes with landmines and such, and I guess I won't be crafting anything. In the first sector I knifed the first guy, and then the other 2 ran up to the villa and were shot by the guards. Weird. My kills, you idiots! Anyway, the minefield sector is next... tricky
  22. Got the island cleared. Noticed that 32 explosive skill doesn't make you a crafter. I guess i won't be making any ammo. Key to winning is staying mobile with extended free move perks. They almost rushed on the roof of the fort, but i ran away at the last minute, and ran further the next turn, too. Then i killed one, and ran some more. Shot a wounded Pierre in the head, but he didn't die. Knife attack with my last 2 AP! 27 damage! And letting nobody hang in Ernie is beneficial. Herman gives you a skill book, and so does greasy bill, or whatever his name is. 60 strength is not enough btw. I can hardly carry what i need. Luckily there's the craft items to squadbag mod.
  23. Dragunov, or PSG1. Both not cumbersome, providing mostly one shot kills when tricked out.
