  1. I think larger maps and more complex inventory can easily be implemented, even in the current state of the game. And I still have to get my hands on the game itself to truly decide if we need larger maps. but inventory: yes. this is waaaaay to simple.
  2. and again, this is your own and almost the solely opinion - as you can see in the poll. From our sides it is the right, the JA-True decision to not have visible CtH Numbers. To give the discussion a little twist: why not bring it visible CtH as a perk? If you have a merc with like 90 Marksmanship and maybe Experience Lvl 5+, he could choose a visible CtH as a perk for him?
  3. As like in so many game devs - i would really love to see more responses and better communication from the DEVs.
  4. This is how CtH should be displayed. you have a circle, starting in red. You spend points, you get the circle in purple. you spend max points, you get the blue circle.
  5. i knew you would accuse that guy to beeing a fake account. hell, you're gonna be close to be on my ignore list.. yes! When I first saw it, i thought the crit indicator was "off" and not organic in the display of information. And the hitoints as well. Thresholds like "Normal", "Bad" and "Critical" were more than enough to know how to prioritize your targets. Because making bad decisions is part of JA2 !! It's your strategy, your skills to use your mercs wisely and that implies not knowing everything all the time. If we follow your argumentation, to get the "best high quality decisions" why not remove fog of war and show the enemies all the time? Then you can position your mercs perfectly for the best outcome possible. If a merc tells you "ah, i'm not sure i can hit that..." what more communication do you need?
  6. 1.13 was overly complicated and didn't bring a lot of joy to a lot of players. JA2 Community is split between pro 1.13 and pro staciatella... Why i would want to reduce CTH? Maybe for a more puristic experience? As i told you, you seem to be a save/load player who doesn't like your mercs getting hit. I prefer the other approach: gid gud, play smart and live with consequences of bad decisions, aka positioning, luring and bad cover. I don't need CtH if I get the hang of merc and weapon like you do in JA2. Simple as that.
  7. YES. Don't overcomplicate it. I didn't like the complicated 1.13 LBE System and a lot of others neither. Find a suitable way in-between. YES. This current system is a catastrophy. yes. magazines. BRING. IN. MAGAZINES. Ammo boxes *could* still be in, but only to fill magazines. true. But the crafting is now implemented in almost every game. Far Cry Series, Tarkov, DMZ(Cod) .. so it's more of less standard. And i actually like the system, if the mods make sense (as they more or less did in ja2). So a spring + a rod = bolt update. Lens + some Pipe -> bad scope. make them in "normal" = bought quality and a little worse "self-made" quality. only if they're useful. But yes, more options = better. but we don't need 10 pistols that we're never going to use. Sunglasses are only needed if no sunglasses mean a malus during sunlight. I mean, we're in africa. Sun should be burning and visibility should be reduced because it's so fkng bright during daytime. i don't care, but more variety = good. yes please. hacking anything should bring intel, storylines, rpg elements etc. but not money. at least: money could be a 5% chance so it would be worth hacking something. or maybe give you data you could SELL. But not "instant" money on your bank account. add an item and increase RPG elements. should be depending on difficulty setting. but generally: yes. Depends - it's about balancing, right? We will have to see that i guess. In JA2 militia system was too simple. two mercs who train militia all the time and you never lost anything back to the enemy. that was boring. YES! YES! YES! i need to play the game myself to judge on the topic. not quite sure how bad/good they affect gameplay. I never needed most of the mercs. But variety is good, so .. maybe add more with patches/free dlc.. No. If I'm a Merc, I maybe don't want to get hired for more than two month. Maybe I want to negotiate my salary again after 2 weeks? Id adds to immersion if I can't hire forerver but have to prolong the contracts.
  8. Nah man, the toggle is for the X-Com Players who need it. I would switch it off and never touch it, as long as the feel of Merc+Weapon is right. Are you really kidding me? Did you ever play vanilla ja2 or only 1.13? Man, you start in Omerta, have 3 or 4 mercs with Deagle, Colts and your AIM Merc with MP5. After the first few enemies and then hunting the last one you got the feeling for it. As soon as you arrive in draußen airport you knew how to position, how to move to the building in the south east, then to the fence and cut your way to the airplane. The feel for the aiming when out of range, the hope to hit and not get hit .. that was the Ja2 feeling. Ofc you can save and reload and reload and reload until you get it right. Or you could just play along with all the faults and get hit a few times. What does it matter? CtH is nice if you want a playthrough without getting hit. But that will deny you the adrenaline rush if you need to save a merc with a smoke and get your medic close to him and miss him for the next few sectors. They got much more valuable if you play without reload.. and CTH.
  9. Totally agree. Plus: Missing Magazines (which was a huge part of JA2), missing Face-Inventory (Night Vision, Sunglasses) and many more. I really wished they would aim for christmas and take their time but since they announced the collectors edition already, summer release is to be expected. What a pity - too many games have been rushed to marked, have been doomed and then evolved into decent or even good games. but the damage has already been caused. I don't mind waiting another year if that means the game adds features, is more balanced and well-rounded. but investors .. would disagree, i bet.
  10. and that is exactly why CTH should not be in the game. YOU should know if your chances are at 20%, 50% or 70%. This was always a huge part of JA2 Vanilla -> Do you move closer, maybe to the next wall/sandbag or do you take the shot? If you decide to move -> how will you cover your merc? Will he run into an interrupt? If you implement CTH to take all those considerations away because you will solely decide upon your CTH. no cth = good decision. cth toggle -> better decision!
  11. @mods can we please prohibit all languages except english? I don't want to use deepl all the time to read cyrillic..
  12. no need to apoligize, different poeple, different opinions. we just need to learn to accept different opinions again...
  13. Please just leave real-life politics out of this game and let's just have some entertainment.
  14. Yes, or like in world of tanks. I posted this in another thread, but have a look at this: This is the shot dispersion of firing your gun. If the circle excludes all shots that are not within the circle, that would be dope. na man, it's not. there are a lot of ppl who dislike 1.13, like myself. i prefer staciatella mod for ja2.
  15. na man, it's not. there are a lot of ppl who dislike 1.13, like myself. i prefer staciatella mod for ja2.
  16. First time i agree with Lunokhod. This looks terrible.
  17. I really really think they should hand out beta access to poeple from the community, who can contribute in videos or internal forums to the state of the game.
  18. @Image Miroir do yourself a favor and ... just block Lunokhod. Forums has been much nicer for me since i blocked his comments 🙂 For beta tests: i guess you could count everyone on the forums in!
  19. then maybe you wanna put on your tinfoil-hat, because I am more of less against CtH or at least i want to please both worlds by making it an option, but "off" as default. And I'm for sure no dev, my salary would be waaaay too high lol. getting used to your mercs and knowing if a shot is worth it or not was a huge aspect of JA2/Vanilla and if you don't remember that, please install ja2 again and start getting the feel of JA2 again. I'm not toggling CtH on if it's an option and if the Devs don't implement it, it's fine!
  20. Or to combine the best of the two worlds: find the vendor, do a quest for him, his online shops then is available to you. i didn't like having a merc standing around the vendor just to see if he has something worthy to buy...
  21. No, but I guess there will be some beta again for youtubers/press/streamers again. Then there will be early access for pre-order.
  22. But to what extend? I didn't see any magazines in the footage, only "30/500" Ammo Boxes. Managing the magazines was an essential part of the inventory and management system of the game.. JA was not only about fighting, but logistics as well. Please don't take that important part away by making it easy. Again: I opt for an toggle option "more weapons" or anything like this, that adds complexity. @Haemimont_Boian: Please, reconsider this.. It was absolutely common in JA2 to aim for the Torso and Hit Legs/Shoulders/Arms, even the Head instead of the Torso. Not so much when you aimed for the Head, but even then I remember hitting shoulders. It would simply give a note in the bottom: Solder hit in the Shoulder, lost ** Stat. As for CtH: I get your idea and I guess most of us are on your side. But again: Why not make it optional? Make it disabled by default but let X-Com Players turn it on manually...
  23. Im too german to be connected with my flag. We learned from mother milk that it's forbidden to be proud/connected to our nation. An to be honest: i met a lot of awesome Czech, polish, turkish or dutch people and a lot of fucked up Germans.. i rather call me european than german. So i dont need flags but i can understand poeple who love/like their country. So if they implement that: feel free
  24. I guess i was drunk when i wrote my comment. Ofc IMP was awesome, i was thinking of the M.E.R.C mercs somehow. I'm sorr,! imp should receive as much love as possible!
  25. Haha, yeah that's true. But you get the idea, i simply love the WH universe and thought some nice crossover/cooperation would work well for both franchises. Even if revenue would be split with GW or some license fees apply. Absolutely right: You could make it with a toggle: You need to activate advanced options manually, then choose between different presets and adjust the options set by the presets afterwards.
