  1. @LoboNocturno Gun Jesus boring? You blasphemous heretic! Just joking friend. ðŸŧ I understand his channel is not for everyone. Me being an mechanical and electrical engineer however I really enjoy seeing all these mechanical wonders and how they work or why they don't work. 😂 Interesting idea @cdg10. I would be for something like that, as long as the implementation wont limit what guns the mercs can use. Perhaps it could be the other way around aswell, that some mercs despise certain guns? Maybe a weapon familiarisation system could also be implemented? After all, the more you use a weapon the better you will perform with it.
  2. Not a tactical movie at all but I find it fun and interesting. The Pentagon Wars, a "comedysation" about the development of the Bradley. Interesting to see the mindset of "let's fix this non existing problem".
  3. I scrolled through this topic quickly and I could not see any mention of the old Silent Storm games, although I belive most of us here are familiar with the titles. But if not, they are WW2 story driven tactical rpgs. You choose between fighting for the allies or axis and create your own soldier out of (if I remember correctly) 6 different classes. After that you select a team to fill up the 5 open slots in your squad, equip them and set out for different missions. It has 3D destructible enviorments and the characters and enemies are over the top silly. Edit: I belive there was a old JA3 project, using the same engine.
  4. I would like to suggest the developers (@Haemimont_Boian @Haemimont_Boyan) to check out Ian "Gun Jesus" MacCollum's awesome YouTube channel Forgotten Weapons (maybe you already know of it). I do not belive you can find a broader vault of information regarding all sorts of guns. Who knows, you might find something really cool over there for the game!
  5. Glad to have you here @Haemimont_Boian! @GODSPEED! Now's our chance to get all those 1.13 features in and AIMNAS level of gear and weapons! 😂
  6. Len or Shadow, pull back? Nah, that must mean our good friend Lance Fisher is back! 😂 "Due to persistent personality clashes with Victoria Waters, Lance was asked to resign from A.I.M. in exchange for a posting at Westpoint Military Academy. He accepted and is currently an instructor of ethics and tactical withdrawal, a subject he recently published a book on. "Beating a path to safety without screaming." is available at most military college bookstores." - Jagged Alliance 2 Alumni gallery
  7. The weekend gave me some room to think things trough (don't judge me, I am slow, ok!) and here my guess. The main reason for the reveal of the title, and the forums etc. is all due to the normal corporate bullsh... I mean procedures. To give their (THQ's/Embracer group, whatever) stocks the best boost they can for the end of the year (2021), they reveal a bunch of titels. Nevermind how far away each title is from release. Makes sence right? THQ can then tell the shareholders: Hey we got this many upcoming titels! Dosen't it look great? Shareholders caring about the next quarterly return on their investment, runs trough their checklist: Sounds good. Are preorders up? THQ: Ofcourse! SH: GOOD. What about trailers for the game to incriese hype? THQ: Got'em! SH: Excellent. And sites for publishing more hype? THQ: Yes! We are already listed on these stores (shows list). SH: Very good! Haemimont over in the corner: Uuuh guys, we are like... a year away from showing anyth... THQ: Shhhh! Quiet! Stocks are up! I have experience similar things myself. Just last year, I among a few other colleagues were forced into a project by the company we work for. An idea that really was no more than a few notes on a piece of papper that a few of my colleagues had a discussion about. The idea was great, no doubt about that. The company got wind about the idea and demanded that a project was to be established and finished whitin the very same year. Normally we spend a year just in preparation, risk assessments, pre-constructions etc. And why the rush you ask? Because the idea was so good and running the project trough at less than half the time we normally take, gave the company a very nice incriese in stock value. I myself had a very small role and was not affected much by it but a few of my colleagues worked themselves to the bone to make sure the project was successful.
  8. I only want to see what guns Ivan can use to destroy his enemies. ðŸĪŠ Jokes aside, I want too see game mechanics, how it all fits togheter when combining the strategic, tactical and financial gameplay. Also a bit of gameplay toghetet whit a look at the character presentation in the game, how the charecters personality is presented to you as a gamer. To see if they captured the "vibe" from the earlier games.
  9. Well... I much rather have Haemimont take their good time and develop a well thought trough, complex, balanced, (relatively) bug-free and fleshed out game. Finally giving us a game whit the same unique experience last seen 2 decades ago. If they rush it we will just get some bug riden, unbalanced, semi-functioning game with the same stale voice actor for every character... and the "curse" of developing a JA game continues.
  10. Now that's a nice birthday present! ðŸĨģ Damn @Wigen, you just keep them coming, don't you?!
  11. Yupp! @Wigen deserves a special thanks for being an amazing source of information! @LXant too for sheading some light on the whole THQ corporate businesses model. Cheers guys! ðŸŧ
  12. Was watching the TV and saw that the an old movie called: Clear and Present Danger. Based on a Tom Clancy book. And speaking of books, that reminded me of a book called: Dogs of War. Wich they also made a movie of back in 1980. Aaaand speaking about movies about Mercenaries: The Wild Geese (1978). Aaaand speaking about war movies in Africa: The siege of Jadotville. And just droping a few other titels. Check them out over at imdb. Tears of the sun. Commando. 6 days. Sniper. Fury. We were Soldiers. Saving private Ryan. The thin red line. Zero Dark Thirty. Extraction. Platoon. Red Dawn. Theres both a new and old version. 12 strong. 13 hours. The Outpost. Restrepo. Bravo Two Zero and The one that got away. Same event but from different persons perspective.
  13. Not a very good joke. IVAN IS NOT AMUSED!
  14. Yupp, Swedish myself so I do know what you are talking about. 😂
  15. Having worked within large companies/groups, although in a entierly different field of work. I learned that being a "good employe" will not get you anywere, much less any respect from the people above you in the company hierarchy. If I were Haemimont (and were ready for more reveals) I would frequently voice my concerns and say: We want to communicate with our potential customers! Does this forum only exist becauses they started to take preorders for the game?
  16. @GODSPEED I wholeheartedly agree with your post. There is such a lack of information about the game that there is just nothing for us to talk about (regarding the game). All we can do is express our hopes/fears and expectations. It would be interesting to know whom is responsible for communication, is it THQ or Haemimont? It is not handled very well to put it in a polite way.

    April Fools'?

I really hope thats a joke. As much as I despise wtf is going on in Ukraine I blame it solely on the person(s) governing Russia. A JA game whitout Ivan? Nope, nope, nope!
  18. I tried out a demo for the game The Troop on steam. The feeling was kind of the old Close Combat games but in a 3D environment and turn based playstyle. Still in development so it was a little rough but might become a really good game to kill an hour with every now and then.
  19. ðŸŧ I agree with you regarding the charming style. I find it very appealing in this case. I have seen several of their development videos and the team has put in alot of work to get the atmosphere "right".
  20. I know I have mention the game before, but Songs of Conquest is coming to early access in May. A stratergy game heavily inspired and to some degree shamelessly copied the old Heroes of Might and Magic games. Now early access might not be your thing, I myself are very sceptic to its uses. But it should atleast provide some deeper gameplay videos. I for one am very curious about this title, to see if it triggers that "just one more turn" addiction. 😂
  21. So we are only 3 months away from release then! REJOICE EVERYONE! 😃 (Sorry for the joke, I could not help myself from being sarcastic). Any way nice find @Wigen 👏ðŸŧ My guess is that this was an earlier planed release date, but things got changed/delayed in the process. Any takers? Or they simply has just go on producing the game and are finishing it up for a late Q2 release to everybody's suprise? Although I find that to be improbable. ðŸĪ”
  22. @Inveris Well THQ did mention JA3 as late as mid February as one of their select pipeline projects. (Thanks to @Wigen for the link). https://community.jaggedalliance.com/forums/topic/35-release-date/?do=findComment&comment=743
  23. Sorry of this counts as a necro of a tread. One thing I would love to see is a weaponsmith capable of some "stupid" weapon modding. Example: Giving the smith a HK G3A3 and an HK MP5K to combine it into a a MP5K size carbine firing 7.62x51 (google MC 51K to see what I mean). Or maybe the smith will simply have unique weapons such as this for sale. I think this could be a fun way to get some unusual, unique and even unicorn guns into the game.
  24. Agreed. I belive this game will require a vast amount of gameplay options and difficulty settings, and the ability to mod this game so people can turn it into whatever they like (the Pathfinder games from Owlcat comes to mind) for the game to become financially successful and appealing to a relatively large audience. Options and choices such as (but not limited to) strategic difficulty. Tactical difficulty. Financial difficulty. The Tons of Guns option. Perhaps even such things as Merc relation difficulty. Simply to make the game as accessible as possible even for those that normally would not be interested in a game as complicated as JA2 (and I do not even count the 1.13 mod). While still being able to capture and challenge those who wants a game like the original.
  25. I came to realise (about god damned time!) that I never explained why I like Ivan so much. I have no empirical study at all to support this, but for some reason Ivan just seams to perform better than other Mercs for me. So he's become somewhat of a lucky charm for me.
