I saw a message about this somewhere... IIRC it was 6am PDT, which is my time zone, so convert to your own and you should know.

Ufff that will be way in the afternoon for me, was hoping they would release it right on 00:00 (24:00) so i can start playing the whole night since i will be free for JA3 release sake. 😉

  2. I got a question, maybe some of you know already a good clue, i bought the game also on Steam, so what time do you guys think it will be JA3 available on 14 of July ? Right away on 00:00 or later on in the 14 July morning or afternoon ?

Btw i also bought the "Tactical Edition" and i got a message from Amazon that the preorder would delay, guess those tactical editions will be also send after the release time ? Probably could arrive after the release date 1 or 2 weeks later ? Do anyone else bought the tactical edition ? I would like to know if you are inside those lucky 750 lol.

Only 1 week left and then the 24 years of wait for Jagged Alliance 3 will be finally over wow.

Haemimont/THQN should get a sponsorship deal with an energy drink manufacturer. Then you could have little cans inside the game that would give a merc instant but limited energy for a while.

Not to forget those energy & regen boosters from JA2, that could give you immediate HP & extra AP.

I think they did pretty well with the weapon showcase for a change.

But when looking in detail, animations still dassle me. Take @1.42 for example. Vicki (the Rasta - thought she ought to be a mechanic and glamorous girl in the past...) is emptying two clips at an enemy who just stands there like a wall and doesn't respond at all to most of the impact.

Also.. good to see they did something with the massive critism about how they portrayed Magic... NOT.
Running around in a hostile area with his sneakers, blazer and fancy baret.. 🤮

To be very honest without any hating, those shooting animations are really cheaply made, i would expect cooler, more realistic animations in today standards it should not be so difficult. End of the day those animation graphics are nothing more then indie level. Most of us love the environment and the design of maps which is nicely done (the maps could be made a lil bigger for sure though for that i would prefer few more less sectors instead anyway), but the animations so far are below average. At least if they could work on those animations it would be giving us a fun feeling in each & every battle.

From the countless beta gameplay i watched it went really to my nerves how each & every time the dying enemies falling to the ground in slow pace like they are going to take a nap. In real life once someone gets shot dead falls much faster to the ground.

See this KO, its not a gunshot but just like 1 boom and you go immitiently down.

  5. Strength is surely also a important point imo, at least it was in JA2. As example i loved Brain (imo the best door & create opener) in JA2 Wildfire. His power was like 95 but within short time it reached to 99. He would open most doors just with 1 kick and excellent for opening boxes.

They said already back in JA3 power will be useful for more slots but also for other stuff like throwing grenades more further and could be useful as well for opening boxes or even in hand to hand.

If we want to keep it realistic, men power should not be anything lower then 70 imo (unless its a really old or sick person as Dynamo or Shank back in JA2 from Tixa.) For women it could be anything from 45 to 75 (max). I cant see any merc having lower power then 50 (unless its a woman, sick or really damaged character.)

I would be giving to my IMP at least 75 power if its a male, if its a woman i would keep it around 60s.

  6. I liked the water drinking option in JA RAGE. So back in JA3 we need to go each & every time to a nearby bar to rest our mercs ? Why we cant sleep just in every sector, that way it would have been much better.

@Warmonger I used the canteens always for my door and create opener, as he had to run a lot from sector to sector.

  7. Also on the very same scene 1 enemy gets smashed to pieces and the others didnt even fall to the ground lol. That animation where the enemy goes to few pieces (head off, arms and legs off just like LEGO minifigs lol), we saw that animation first time in 1 of the earlier trailers where Fauda throws a grenade to a smaller building with a enemy in front. I honestly think that animation is very cheaply made sadly and in real life nobody would be smashed to pieces from just 1 hand grenade (unless you implant yourself C4 to your body and make self explosion like the Islamic fighters.)

For me the colours of Dev Diary 12 are perfect. You already have different tones due to environmental effects like wheather and night. Maybe you should have differences during daytime. At noon it is much brighter than in the morning or evening, where environment is more colourful and vibrant.

That makes the best sense, even back in JA2 it was like that.

  9. "If you equip night vision goggles, you may gain the upper hand at night, but is it worth it to give up the opportunity to protect your merc with a heavy helmet?"

Which means we can not attach the night vision to our helmets. 🙃

  10. The weapon models looks good indeed, who noticed it ? Our weapons will be looking the first time to the right side as back in JA1 & JA2 they were looking to left.

I really like the flashlight & laser pointer effects during the night time but that the fire showing while shooting during the day time went really to action movies direction, i would prefer it as realistic as possible but its fine with me.

So from what i understand certain mods will be increasing our weapons abilities such range, power, crit hits etc....(Am really curious to what degree we can upgrade our assault rifles?)

BTW : Am also against Rocket Rifles (yes i have used them myself at times when i was in trouble but still they take away the realism in the fire fights.)

Am also assuming we will face later in the game a armored vehicle or a tank hehehe.

  11. @Solaris_Wave I never really used shotguns in my countless playthroughs since 25 years lol. Guess am simply not the shotgun type of guy (also in real life). Even in very close range i can use assault rifles or dessert eagle, also at times the throwing knife (with a throwing expert like Dimitri).

Using snipers much less then assault rifles as well since they eat too much AP.

Hope we will not encounter a very over powered weapon in JA3 as the "Rocket Rifle" in JA2. It was by far the most powerful weapon in the game.

  12. @Solaris_Wave Damn so its true in the release version the assault rifles will not be that damaging ? Though it was like that just in the beta version and that they would balance it. In JA1 (yea you got only the M-16) and especially in JA2 the assault rifles were the most used and most effective weapons (snipers were good too but they eat too much APs for a single shot and the late enemies didnt die from 1 headshot like in JA3) overall and so it should stay.

So it seems like in JA3 the most powerful weapons will be the sniper rifles, on the beta gameplay it looked like walk in the park killing all enemies from the distance.

To your question to @WILDFIRE i would most definitely choose animated portraits over shared inventory but your right shared inventory, scrap build (they copy it a lil from The Last of Us) and that the assault rifles will be doing less damage its also not so pleasant.

Agreed @LoboNocturno , it hurts me to see current sneaking in action.

I'm afraid that it may stay as on last stream dev claimed that one guy was able to beat whole game with single merc and a lot of sneaking (there is even achievement that reward sneaking only approach in one of story missions). They have not mentioned how that scales with difficulty but it sounds that it need some serious balance pass..

Not that I could go about without it, but it always feel wrong to ignore OP mechanics in order to have more fun approach ..

Oh yes i heard it too, with 1 merc only then he said it feels like Batman Arkham Asylum. 🦇🙂

So it was said there will be also a achievement (trophy 🏆) for that ? I missed that part, but if its true most people would get that trophy on easy.

Hopefully they will increase the sight though or the game will feel too dumb and after a while too easy and it will kill the fun in long run.

I do enjoy those graphics as well. In particular the showcase of different environments on the cover of this devdiary. Amazing variety and details packed into these.

As @Lunokhod mentioned so far best part of the new JA (perhaps on par with the world building). Here is hoping that combat will live up to this level too.

If they add up some more animations (death & destruction) to the beta version and increase the enemies sight further am sure the battles will be very fun indeed.

Maybe your first impression was right though. Corazon Santiago doesn't seem to be nice. This game tends to show personality through appearance — and she does look kinda intimidating. Plus JA2:UB taught us not to trust mining companies. Especially in Africa in the early 2000s. You know, blood diamonds and all that staff.

It's a pretty wild guess but maybe at some point our employer becomes our opponent. These guys might be some PMC operatives hired by Santiago. Their squad callsigns ("Quadruple Canopy", "Handel") are really different from those of the Legion ("Legion Heavy Attack Squad") and I would expect the army units to be named in the same way ("Army Heavy Attack Squad"). Plus Santiago does mention having her own security teams in a dialogue.

Another interesting thing is a screenshot from devdiary 7. It shows Buns questioning Tex on the whereabouts of Corazon Santiago. I didn't pay much attention to it initially — obviously it was from the early build where Tex could have been an NPC or an RPC. Still why is Buns looking for Santiago? To award her with the "Employer of the Month" badge from A.I.M.?

Well imo this Wallpaper is pretty nice, i made the Grand Chien Map also as my wallpaper on my laptop.

The car explosion is in my opinion a notch or 2 too quick, it should delay a few seconds, hope you guys fixed the explosion with the barrels, the enemies should also be greatly affected from the explosion and it needs a animation which we could not see in the beta gameplay.

Btw the weather conditions looks really realistic, if this atmosphere can keep the same realism in game too, it would mean us a lot.

  16. @Lunokhod They should be either mixed up or been black since Grand Chien is a African country or county. I was expecting most NPC`s to be black but we got many whites too. Maybe they wanted bring in a balance idk, also why they painted all the goons like clowns could be a reason they dont wanted to get criticism about racism that we kill plain Africans in a game so that could be a reason why they thrown in so much paint to their faces or completely white paint like Quan Chi from Mortal Kombat. I would suggest if they put at least to our militia balaclavas on it could take away a little the clone feeling.

@JaywalkerOh true, they are 4 or 5 of them i think. Imo very silly opponents, just as the trained hyenas.
