  1. Dude, you can easily train hyenas to drive trucks. It's very common in Africa. Read a book sometime.
  2. Uh...isn't that what Corazon Santiago and the player do?
  3. They're saying "I want to fight enemy vehicles." Or, specifically, "I want to fight an enemy truck with a machine gun in the back."
  4. When playing JA2, I almost always ran out of slots before I ran up against the weight limit. If anything, strength is more relevant to inventory management now than it was before, or so it seems to me.

And they're gone! Good work, mods!
  6. They specifically use the term "heavy helmet". It seems to me that only certain types of headgear (the most protective, and presumably, the most bulky) are incompatible with NVGs.
  7. Many people have concerns about the portraits (or character depiction in general). I'm one of them. But nobody with a connection to reality thinks they're going to go back and rework them before launch. A post-launch patch is more realistic (in the sense that it's even possible), but that's not what you stated in your previous post. Now, there are other posts that, like yours, seem to suggest that Haemimont could have made the designs more appropriate and faithful to the characters, but made them badly on purpose. I also think this is delusional, but at least you're not alone in that delusion. I think Haemimont did the best job they could with the mercenaries. I think that every mercenary's designs (and their dialogue, for that matter) went through several rounds of review and refinement by multiple people. I don't agree with many of their interpretations, but Haemimont just blew these off and could go back and improve them just by putting in a bit of effort.
  8. If you think the tone of Jagged Alliance 3 should be "grim, bleak and pretty depressing", then I suspect you never once played Jagged Alliance 2 at all.
  9. Demos aren't just for preview before the game is released. They also allow prospective customers to sample the gameplay before they buy it.
  10. Nobody wants to know this but you, because nobody thinks they're going to rework the portraits ten days before the game's release. That you would even suggest this is nothing short of delusional.
  11. I would prefer to have the option of a walking animation, but realistically I'm unlikely to use it. I'm the kind of player who gets annoyed waiting for my merc to sprint from the bottom to the top of the Drassen Airport sector. What is slightly annoying is the animation itself, or rather, its use. It's a perfect animation for battle or for moving around a potentially hostile sector, but it'll be odd to see my mercs going for the 100 metre dash record as they're picking up quests in a friendly town or looting a captured bunker. It reminds me of excited children.
  12. They're not all synchronized, but they do all have the same running animations, played at the same speed. It looks unnatural when you have multiple mercs running alongside each other. See below:
  13. To be fair, Jagged Alliance (and tactical combat games in general) gameplay doesn't translate well to video format. I'm sure we've all seen some streamer footage by now, and I'm sure we've all thought, "This person doesn't know what they're doing, I want to try doing it this way." A demo could help bring in people who are uncertain about the game.
  14. Now that I think about it, they've mentioned mercs' AP increase when they gain experience levels. They may have cranked everyone up to level 10 (or all their stats to the maximum, for that matter) to capture the footage they wanted.
  15. Just throwing in my support for Lunokhod regarding the colours. 😢 Devs, please keep the vibrant colours from the beta, or if you can't do that, please make the filter something easy to mod out.
  16. I don't know about anything else you asked, but yes, you can suppress enemies. Firing full auto at an enemy will suppress them. I don't know if it's possible to inflict this outside of full auto, though.
  17. Also, while we're all complaining, I thought it was a gaff to have footage of a supposedly wheelchair-bound NPC clearly standing in gameplay. I'm sure that will be fixed by release, but c'mon guys, don't include this kind of in-progress jank in your trailer. It's promotional material, you're supposed to put your best foot forward!
  18. I guess you could argue that Grand Chien looks pretty hot, too. Having all your sweat pores covered with camo paint probably doesn't help, either. I think the devs mentioned in a stream that, at early stages of development, all mercs were included for testing purposes, but they were nothing more than collections of stats. I wouldn't take much from Lynx's appearance in an early screenshot, especially if he has no associated portrait.
  19. I've seen someone by the name Ohmwrecker in the official Jagged Alliance discord. There's a YouTuber (and streamer?) by the same name who may be worth looking into. Jagged Alliance is not the sort of game he usually posts on his channel, so I wouldn't suggest it if he (or his discord counterpart) hadn't shown genuine interest in JA3, but he could provide exposure to an audience that's not generally aware of the tactical combat genre. He got me into at least one game outside of my comfort zone, so there's precedent.
  20. Not everything is shared. My understanding is that only medical supplies, scrap parts, and ammunition is kept in the shared inventory. It's been said that the essence of gameplay is interesting decision-making. I don't work for Haemimont and I'm not a mind reader, but my assumption is that they believe the distribution of ammo or medical supplies is not actually an interesting gameplay choice. I know that when I play JA2, once I capture the airport and can properly equip my mercs, I typically give all my units two magazines and two first aid kits (unless they have 0 medical skill), because that's what stacks in one small cell. I almost never stray from that, which means I'm almost never actually making a real choice when I distribute ammo and medical supplies to my mercs. I can't remember the last time I've had a merc actually run out of ammo or medical supplies. I suspect - and this is only conjecture - that Haemimont figures these are meaningless decisions that should be cleared out to expedite the path to more interesting gameplay.
  21. Realistically, the first mods will probably be weapon rebalance mods, or based on what I've seen from JA2 mods, replacement portraits for all the female mercenaries of teenaged models. I'd love to see old mercenaries ported to JA3, though, even if they couldn't interject in conversations or whatever. I'm currently playing a 1.13 game using nothing but ported JA:DG mercenaries.
  22. I think that's a false equivalence. Skills in JA1/2 were fairly subtle and only made you better (or less bad) at things anyone can do. Magic is stealthy, but everyone can sneak, he's just especially good at it. Hitman is skilled at throwing, but everyone can throw. Things like "ignore overwatch" or "automatically throw a knifevat anyone who invades your personal space" is new for the series and likely to have significant effects on the gameplay. I personally am not worried because I play plenty of RPGs with outlandish abilities, but I completely understand people who have misgivings about its addition to JA.
  23. As near as I can tell, no one. The platonic solid of a mercenary, I suppose, corresponding to no specific individual in particular.
  24. I feel like that's in the cards. In JA2, virtually everyone you spoke to hated Deidranna, making it clear that you were on the side of angels. A lot of Grand Chien's populace, on the other hand, don't seem to give a shit about the president.
