  1. Personally I'm not bother with the explosions and animations limitations, but definitely not stoked about nvg/helmet superficial limitation.
  2. @Wigen posted it on recent diary, 5 seconds after it was published, as he always does .. 😄 Cool stuff, keep it coming! Waiting for my free JA3 playlist too!
  3. 35 is still min (unless things changed from preview build). Inability to grenade could be a factor (but I'm not clear on how this translates exactly), other limitations seems superficial as other mercs could easily handle these. Higher min on some of ATR would make sense, after all I would not like to send my frail body to front lines, but if I can .. I suppose it is still somewhat unclear how much exactly does lack of STR impact on gameplay, I could end up hating my life mid playthrough 😛
  4. It could be too big of trade off tho. Looking at some playthroughs, here are some examples STR - SLOTS 56 - 5 70 - 8 87 - 11 Between 6 - 10 points of strength worth 1 item slot (more on low end of STR). Not best trade off, I would prefer to spend it somewhere else. Probably I wont be going for more then 50 on IMP and have everyone else handle my sh#t.
  5. he has good point tho, no need to go to usual suspect 😉 having high strength does appears to be kind of pointless ..
  6. Demo would be either show of confidence / or cheap crowd sourced testing. Either way its not a loss to dev and shame that is no longer part of game development cycle. To some extent Early Access replaced this but we did not get here neither. Not to sad, just would be great to optimise game before final release and not relay on day 1 patching, soon enough we will see how things will work out. Already paid, so fingers crossed.. Just like we need to wait for how well game will sell, no reason to even discuss about it now, too many variables and pre orders being abused by AAA devs recently. IMHO it wont be hit, its just not genre not brand for big hits. I just hope its meeting expectations of dev to the point that we will get some DLCs and perhaps gain some momentum for future JA developments.
  7. Agreed with inventory system abuse and heavy oversimplification, for the record you cannot store weapons in shared stash.
  8. Thank you for another insight into combat Boian. Couple questions arise, where the NVG go, does not seems to have specific item slot for it. And what is happening with the AP, seems every video we see it changes from 10+ to 20+. Finally I hope that enemy sight range is way improved latter in the game, in press previews that we seen 2mo ago those were heavily limited, some clarifications on that during stream would be appreciated. See you guys on Thu!
  9. I would not mind some preview build as well. Not that I'm worried about refund but I'm probably looking to take day off from work, would be shame to cancel it because I cant even run game properly 😐
  10. Arthur: Knight's Tale Different vibe but very decent TBS with a bit of base management 40% off on Steam right now https://store.steampowered.com/app/1157390/King_Arthur_Knights_Tale/
  11. Indeed! It was super fun stream as well, Momchil (Mr TV famous) was cool addition to usual cast.
  12. Good catch and good change for sure, they certainly not sleeping over these 2 months. Actually good question to ask is how old was preview build that we seen 2 months ago, I would not be surprise if it is 3+ months, thats decent time to make some improvements (there is hope for tweaking sneaking and saving Magic, which btw was omitted in last merc trailer).
  13. They could go with weight and proportional size approach to inventory as suggested, I would be happy with that. I dont think that imposes any limitations for weapon handling (you would simply assign single/two handed weapons). They are walking thin line between legacy/realism/approachability aspects to inventory management. Certainly current approach to inventory management simplifies a lot of aspects of the interface design and as it is, it turn out very basic but it might do the job just fine, we will see soon how it plays..
  14. Cool stuff, Hopefully its not just case of your own mercs mess ups. It will make you think twice about camping roofs with half of your squad, that is if AI will be tossing grenades as they should in this case..
  15. I was aware of the trailer, but do you recall which streamer was showing the roof collapsing? I was also hoping for structural collapses.
  16. I forgot to add that its great to see some of the destructible environment finally. We hard of it long while ago now, but except of some initial demos and exploding barrel that could not take a men of his feet .. we have not seen much. It was awfully quiet I would say! So yea great to see some action on that front, but how destructible can we get in new JA3? Is it just cosmetically hole in the wall thing, or can we have whole building collapsing ??
  17. Another great diary. I was hoping for combat part 2 but wont complain 😉 Top notch weapon models as others mentioned, anxious to hear more about ins and outs of this process on next stream (any gun fire soundtrack planned for this steam??). I have a feeling that finally its Pavel time! And since we have the Model, dont forget the promised give away of tshirts 😛 For the stream, I would like to hear more about variety of the weapons in each subclass, balancing of scraping and weapon modding systems and most importantly how the damn bunch of nerds got the access to military facilities and how siked you were on the shooting day?? Slight nod on the stream that confirm some crazy armament will be appreciated too, some ideas in line with discussed below would be cool, but no rocket rifle pls.
  18. He does tend to read through all the text, which I guess makes people switch off early. Lucky JA3 seems to have most of conversations fully voiced so IMHO that will make good match with the content.
  19. I hope they plan for another batch of the promotions before the launch. Certainly some people needed to be reminded how great this franchise was (and hopefully still is after this release!) and younger folks nowadays could not be bothered with anything else then following what their fav internet influencers does. @Hendrix thanks for reminding me of Retcon Raider, legendary voice, have not heard this guy for a while!
  20. I think that they made decent attempts for other markets, there were couple impressions/overviews made by couple popular channels like Splattercat, ACG, Fextralife, IGN and some others https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqBvKm07G5E&ab_channel=Splattercatgaming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vT93wWSnkVs&ab_channel=ACG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgO4MroMKmw&ab_channel=Fextralife https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYsHtAkhwJU&ab_channel=GeekCulturePlays That being said if their goal was lets play, I would reach out to few other guys, Christopherodd would be great, here are my suggestions: Christopherodd Nookrium Wonderbots Also if they do not mind game being streamed, there are couple good Twitch channels to present it: Cohh (he would probably repost playthroughs to youtube) FilthyRobot MattOblivium AdmiralBahroo Marbozir
  21. @ShadowMagic I was looking for amazed or bored but neither option were available. I do appreciate your caring for the legacy of JA and would like nothing else then perfect remake of 1.13 or at minimum JA2. I would certainly don't mind that too, but that's not what dev and publisher have in their plans. You could see that from very first trailer that you are not going to get what you want. I suppose they are going for game that would be more appealing to younger crowds which do not want to mess around with magazines and grow up on cartoony style games. I'm with you in that there are issues with some of the decisions that have been made. I'm not happy with the inventory system, sneaking, lack of some slots, scraping, crafting, all the streamlining.. Goofiness has ramped up quite a tad too! Some mercs are definitely scuffed, RIP Magic. I guess I don't mind that much some others you have mentioned but agreeed it does get silly at times. That being said there has been tremendous effort put into this game and I for once appreciate it. It's all subjective but for me world looks great, quests look way more interesting than past iterations, I like UI (especially satellite view), despite some mercs being meh there are a lot cool ones too. Who knows what will happen when the game releases. I might be just fine with all of these questionable choices after couple hours into the game. Hell, it all might just work well together despite of my reservations. It won't be realistic, It won't be 1.13, but I might have a hell lot of fun with it regardless. I suppose that's what you get after decade or so of your childhood memories being crushed. JA is being perfect example of that. When I see very decent attempt on revival of these memories from coma, I will give developers benefit of the doubt. Since it is way too late for any changes, I will go with some of those decisions and if game sucks, will let them know 😉 So yeah, I'm kind of bored to see you poo-poo on everything all over this forum but also amazed that you are still sticking around! If I would be that unhappy, I would be long gone. Kudos to you, I guess ...
  22. I have another one.. Assuming that JA3 is successful is Ian considering to be involved in next one (whether DLC or JA4)? Or was it one and done, series finally getting back on track, mission complete, retire whilst young and on top kind of thing ??
  23. Agreed @LoboNocturno , it hurts me to see current sneaking in action. I'm afraid that it may stay as on last stream dev claimed that one guy was able to beat whole game with single merc and a lot of sneaking (there is even achievement that reward sneaking only approach in one of story missions). They have not mentioned how that scales with difficulty but it sounds that it need some serious balance pass.. Not that I could go about without it, but it always feel wrong to ignore OP mechanics in order to have more fun approach ..
  24. I do enjoy those graphics as well. In particular the showcase of different environments on the cover of this devdiary. Amazing variety and details packed into these. As @Lunokhod mentioned so far best part of the new JA (perhaps on par with the world building). Here is hoping that combat will live up to this level too.
  25. Eagerly awaiting this diary! Would love to hear more on night ops and stealth (any explanation on what happen with the Legion eyesight? 😉 )
