  1. I just remembered about older JA titles.. Mimimi-merc got hit accidentantly by an item, thrown by one teammate to help out. Merc got one (! 1 !) Wound. Forgot 1st aid kit at 'home'. Unlucky mimimi-merc died on the way back to 'home', because there was no cure to find. Im right or is it a false memory..? ๐Ÿ˜„ JA3 is a actually more a Action-based- or almost a Terminator Game compared to this story : D Sparing some reloads..
  2. I think its all about personal preferences, likes and dislikes. In my opinion, there is no golden rule (and it doesnt matter, if you are a 'zoomer', or whenever youre birthday is). I played JA1 when it was modern, now im playing JA3. For me merc inv system is no backstep, compared to JA2. Might be the majority of gameplayers dislike merc inventory system and they are right with that and call it lazy work. Me i like it better, than the old one. About overload and stamina, its a bit a change of path. Sometimes in JA1-2 you might found yourself in trouble, merc got unconscious because bottles were trash items and you couldnt fill them up, standing next to a lake or water tap (NOT talking about 1.13, please)..annoying. I suppose its rather the own expectation, in not getting something similar as prefered (more simulation orientated, maybe). But about the mapinventory- managment, yes there is some need for improvement, i agree.
  3. Yes, you cant overload your merc, different from JA2. But its just a simplified opinion of weight system, i think its the logical consequence and appropriate to some changes (stamina-regarding points) JA3 introduced. Im okay with that concept, wasnt a friend of overloading mercs anyway. Ive got a different view in aspect of exhausted or wounded mercs, weight could gain heavier.. ๐Ÿ˜… In the end its all about youd like to see or Not.
  4. Yes.. because complaining wont help us out, i think ๐Ÿ˜…
  5. Hehe, maybe you should be a bit more careful with your mercs. Im playing ironman, to the bitter end, highest difficulties with just one changeable merc, no one left Grand chien, with illness or even dead. Cant imagine you could hire new doc, with such a high death-rate anyway..๐Ÿ˜„
  6. I really like the merc inventory, because of its easiness and speed, according to my taste. Its just simple, expedient, thats all. Your merc has as much space, as his strenght allows. But about the inventory management youre absolutly right, its the opposite - inexpedient and inefficient. Its a timecosting business to reorganize a sectors inventory. One or two Buttons would have been enough imo, but ... We will have one, if a modder will create one.
  7. If you dont like scripted events, its easy. Just stop talking to npcs. Some of scripted events will only start, after getting involved in RPG elements/storyline. If you are Not prepared you can do things later, N-Night for example. You can also avoid special sectors or only moving through in satellite-view and or just avoid places in sectors. So you can do things later (or even never).
  8. I dont want my game too realistic. I like it to be arcade-style. But what really irritates me, weapon stats are too incongruent to make sense and for me, taking some fun out of the game.. @Jaywalker Overview / conservation of gunpowder. The problem with the idea of third a bulletdamage (..which might be logical in the reality of an parallel universe however, like Jagged-Games..) is for me, that supression in JA3 doesnt really make a difference or even exist. In my previous JA3 experiences enemy didnt care too much, when they were under fire (by some ARs, SNrs and an HMG simultaneously!). Plus, the enemy HPs didnt get affected by the successfull fire, neither. Example: One merc was in overwatch-mode, waiting behind cover with an MG42. 1: The enemy was visible, but still out of range. 2. Enemies ran in range & merc interrupted and made a "bit" of damage with consecutives burst. Merc: No more APs. Enemy: Surpression, huh? - No clue. 3. The enemy knife fighters attacked after getting hit. Run around some obstacles, behind mercs cover and cut him to pieces. 4. Result: My machine gunner saw and reactet as soon as possible, but had almost no chance against 2 knifers. [Another weak point of HMGs is, i think or i dodnt know how: You cant stray the bullets, for better results. Thats sad, it was really fun and would have brought tactical deepness.] Conclusion for me: As it is at the moment, the WHOLE MG class and the tactical task for it, makes not too much sense in JA4, imo. Cause is a bit useless in my opinion: You cant really kill easily with an Boneswaw-MG42 (cause Damage-points are HEAVILY lowered) and you also cant really supress with it. As if that wasnt enough, range of a waterpistol. The MG42 feels bit more like a begging-mouse for me. So shooting MGs is rather a waste of APs imo. Solution: In JA2 1.13 you could easily change the supression factor. Setting bullet damage factor "normal" would be also an option, to help Machineguns out. Another point is, that enemy overwatch is visible to you and it seems to me, that your own overwatch-views are visible to the enemy too. Even if youre own hidden mercs are not discovered by the enemy. So you can observe the enemy avoiding your carefully planed traps; run along the borders of the overwatchviewed areas and shoot your mercs from short distances or even attack your overviewer with knifes. So sometimes its actually a trap for your mercs, setting an overview-trap. Mercs are not allowed to react, having no interrupts and overhelmed by the enemy. ?!? It seems to me, when youre setting an overwiew area, AI who sees that move, immediately knows the presence of your merc.. Is that so, anyone experiences that too?!? - Anyway i think it will be a big balance-problem, to change much of the overwatch/interrupt system.. The game could become too easily, i suposse: Actually the enemy-squad sizes are not that large. And enemy AI is sometimes not so clever, seeing the example above, running with knifes in a defended position. But with the system as it is, they ARE successfull with that heroic behaviour; running in mercs positions, then standing just 2cents away from merc, throwing a flashbang then and starting to stab the helpless merc. ("For the Major!", instead of an famous religious war cry ; ). If you change too much in that system, you have to do also some other changes, like giving other enemy gun choices and so on.. Sooner or later there will be the next JA3 1.13, unavoidable. Like you, @Jaywalker meant and explained above. Actually, the new system is the new challenge, more than other factors for me. But if you change that system, without further developments, like the topic meant, game would become drastically too easy, i suppose. ---Guns--- For my personal aspects (nice-looking guns with weird and questionable quality of logical values) like @Solaris_Wave mentioned, i also intend to massively change ALL weapon stats, for better harmonizing with my weapon-experiences and knowledge in the topic. I dont think it will crash games reality, if its becoming harder, its even better. In JA2 changing weapon-RANGES to real ones was a balance-changer, when not balance-killer (400 fields instead of 40 fields for example). So i'll only want to do changes to ranges, for proportions asspects, so they are more reasonable and better ajar the relationship of real ones (meaning for some ARs approximately the doubled range of some SGMs). Also i like to change damages, again @Jaywalker: "bullet A is bullet A". In my opinion there are too many damage differences in the weapon classes and also differences in the same caliberclass are too high (a 7.62 IS a 7.62). Weapon penetration system also makes no sense for me, or said better the conversion from real life to game-reality (cartridge NOT weapon). Or shotguns, which need too many APs as well, imo. (You dont have too aim too precise with a shotgun when youre shooting buckshots - the advantage of shotguns, youre faster compared to guns of all sorts). Its not the fact, the gun-system is unrealistic, im wondering about. For me, it just feels like stats were coincindentally mixed together and gun-values were designed based on their pure look, or an subjective perception of something like a "coolness factor". --- But however, thats not so terrible, because these are rather minor changes and they wont change that much, what you, @Jaywalker said. It might cause serious balance problems and taking fun out of the game, changing too much existing, Like @Solaris_Wave already wrote before. So maybe you should think deeper about the results to do a lot of changes and the solutions for balance-problems, maybe.
  9. Appreciation for the great Work ( and you didnt f. it up.. ; ) Haemimont-Team! Short summary of my impression..the boys are back in town. I like the music, athmosphere, overall gamedesign (men, landscape, nature, towns and slums) and all the well thought details in them. Cool classic-arcade-action man-style, resembles the classic movies very well and revivals Jagged Alliance and the old Fallout Games, f.e. All stars for that. Only the behaviour of new round-system feels a bit laborious and off to me, sometimes. But i can judge it better, after one complete playtrough, i think. Plus, im waiting for official editor, mostly for gun-balancing. But fun to play it anyway, which is most important. So, thank you for your nice surprisingly-good new Jagged Alliance 3.
  10. Do you meant an dictatorship -conspiracy on gamingplatforms is ongoing with your last words? Your concerns about the game, yes. Some things changed, things get worse, some get better. You dont like the new system, thats understandable. Some of your thoughts, i share, in some aspects. But can we change them? No. Just modding some of them, thats okay. Entertainment has changed over the years. Chess didnt. ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  11. Why do you think people hate 1.13? I think 50% of the (old) Jagged-fan Community still love it and taking it as their measure for JA3. Which makes sense in their world. On the other hand, there ARE gamers, who prefered JA2 Vanilla Style (and their mods (Wildfiremod, Vietnam Mod, etc)). I liked both. I dont think there is a right or wrong. And for me it doesnt matter, what someone likes better or even hate something, i like. Some people love XYZ, some dont, some just dont care and see it as it is. Entertainment. A game is not something like a holy book and even these were rewritten and these rewrites were rewritten again over centuries. My Explanation and Psych. Digression: there will be always people who still hate anything, because its part of human nature loving to hate anything ๐Ÿคญ Prophecy: I suppose, there will be a JA3 "1.13" and everything what is now will be forgotten again๐Ÿคญ And JA4 (if universe wants it) will be measured by JA3 "1.13" again... And people allover will repeat their nuisance-nonsense again.
  12. Try out "Active Pause!" Tool by Kavu at Steam Workshop..
  13. I hope ill find the time, not only hyping it...๐ŸŒด ๐Ÿ˜‚
  14. Hu, well.. Me, Im ready for the Meta..,รคh Arul..รคh, Traco.. รคh... Grand Chien! Godamit, but i aint got the time yet..๐Ÿ™ˆ Maybe in a few Werks, i hope so..๐Ÿคž
  15. CTH Yes,CTH No, CTH Yes, CTH No, CTH Yes,...๐Ÿ’ค I wont use it anyway, but ..did anybody else recognized the rumors devs invented an CTH tool available (at Steam) as soon as game starts..
  16. 7. https://wccftech.com/review/jagged-alliance-3-unexpendables - Wccftech 8.5/10
  17. Your already finished ideas still keeps me laughin'๐Ÿ˜‚ Should become some official figures imo ๐Ÿ˜ Its always good to see a game becomes somehow reality, and its even better with that sense of humor ๐Ÿ˜ And this detailed work, like yours ๐Ÿ™ƒ
  18. Respect. Really creative and great work..๐Ÿ‘ and its visible youre just another crazy (JA-) nerd, like me ๐Ÿ˜
  19. Omg...๐Ÿ˜‚ Cool, youve done that scenes? ๐Ÿ‘ I love them. ๐Ÿ˜ Brings fun back again ๐Ÿ˜‰ Shadow even had the time to comb his hair, after killin' softly ๐Ÿ˜‚
  20. @GODSPEED brought me to the idea, for a Fanbased-Review, as a sum of all players-thoughts and feelings. Do your own Rating, after playing it, for a while. Aspects like -Artconcept/design/general feeling -Gameplay -Gamebalace -Strategical and tactical Aspects -Overall sum -etc. should be rated. What do you think about the idea?
  21. Good idea, writing own reviews, as a fan. Maybe one could think about a fanbase-review? Collect fan-rating-reviews and have a final fanbased-percentage result? ๐Ÿค” (That would make the creation of a review-list necessary, consisting of points of interest regarding the review).
  22. Like an modern soldier from an eastern-european country (hired for a mission setting in africa)? ๐Ÿ˜ Not in my world. Original-JA3-Shadow with his Vietnamwar-retro style will do it better for me..(at least in Jungle) ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. Yes, think youre right with that remberance. I enjoyed playing Vietcong. It wasnt an openWorld experience (like Operation Flashpoint f.e.), but i liked the athmosphere in it, maybe the weaponsounds helped it for that.
