  1. LOL, i found ammo vendor, and they want $1000 for 30 rounds. Game devs already said in the live stream they regret not making Bobby Rays. They said they just run out of funding and time, and it was cut. If the game does well in sales, maybe they will revisit the Bobby Rays project and implement as a DLC. Othewise like in other JA games, i can mod into my IMP to spawn into game already with max skills, good guns and lots of ammo & cash. This is not a game breaker. Right now, i'm just enjoying playing the game without mods, trying to solve the low ammo problem like solving a puzzle. So far still in my 1st playthru, I'm stockpiling heaps of ammo, and my PMC business is double cash flow positive and doing well.
  2. What gun was the sniper using? The aim reticle circle is so big, you could drive a bus thru that. 5AP is going to be a miss. 6AP probably hit in burst fire but will do little damage. IMO, if you use 8AP, that's not even enough for a sniper shot. You just don't have enough AP. See my screenshot, sniper is using 10AP to get good effect on targets.
  3. People complain about the shared ammo storage in the game; but when you go on walking movements, everyone not carrying the tubes/LMG have to help carry extra ammo and extra rockets for the gunners. So yeah, ammo is shared in real life. As for the game, it's like a giant puzzle, you have to manage resources without running out of money. I am playing without mods, i've taken 2 mines so far, cash flow positive, stockpiling ammo supplies, doing merc training and gun mods to improve gun performance, not moving anywhere significant, so as not to trigger the mining problems or trigger any time limitations in the storyline. I've only trained 4 or 8 recruit level militia on H2 port, A2 and H7 mines, so not spending much on militia. Currently moving all resource to H7. A-team is slowly taking sectors moving down and accross the map from A2. B-team of 2 mercs is helping militia to defend H7. NGL, life is pretty good in my PMC company.
  4. Mate, no idea where you live; but lots of gun shooting violence in USA has become a real problem for game devs. I think video games industry have mostly stopped license/trademark agreements with gun companies, and trying hard to distance themselves further away from real life gun companies. Hence guns in games are now often portrayed comical and unrealistic, for the sole purpose of 'game balance', not realism. Thanks Amreica, you really screwed this all up for the rest of the world. Nowadays, if you want a better gun play experience, you have to become a LARP, take up airsoft or milsim skirmish on a field faraway in private property.
  5. No minimap is not a problem, the sectors are not that big. However, in the overview map, devs should fix the zoom out function. Many games already have this zoom in - zoom out feature, and IMO is better than JA2. Weapon attachments is a problem for JA2 diehard; but weapon attachment is not a problem for other games. This is how it is already in many FPS games. We use the gun, and have to unlock the gun attachments for each gun. Otherwise, you can level up a cheap/easy gun to get many kills, get 10x scope, then use the 10x scope on your more expensive gun. Game devs could have done it same or different to JA2. How or whatever the game devs built the game, someone will always say this is better, or that is better, not everyone can agree to what is better, and someone will write a game mod to do something different. The game devs have said, this is ok, play the game with whatever game mods you want.
  6. Haha, this is where the game devs say: Gotcha! ROFL laughing at their evil plans. Thi is what makes JA so re-playable. Now you know, next game you start from scratch, you will keep and hoard many random things that you find.
  7. Not sure if 100% for every encounter. With any armed bad guys that l needed to talk to: I've been using the ol 'Shoot First, Talk Later' approach. For example with Pierre 1st encounter, my mercs killed everyone from a safe distance, but only shoot to wound Pierre a few times, he will surrender and drop down to his knees. Only then, do we talk. Nope, not planning to go anywhere near bad guys with shotguns.
  8. Yes, there is a minefield on the way to deedees. If you can't handle problems at deedees, wait till you meet Larry. I had no such problems using Barry, he even disarms timer explosives before they blow up, ...so far
  9. For recon tasks, if you press H and hide your mercs, there is no need to use overwatch.
  10. Not 100% all the time, but on some maps if I start TB combat with all the mercs hidden sneaky walking, after a pod of enemy are all killed, the mercs go back to sneaky walking around freely until the next TB combat encounter. For me so far, happened in a few maps where my mercs had to walk around freely hunting for the last enemy sniper, rocket man, grenadier, hyena pack, etc. Maps like the fort map, my mercs could sneaky walk freely again to kill the solo rocket man, and then again to hunt down the last enemy sniper in the far corner of the compound. Farm map, same thing. Mercs could sneaky walk again to hunt down the last enemy grenadier hiding around the big barn building. Mine map, killed all the enemy, then goes back to sneaky walking around hunting down that one pack of trained hyenas. Hyena maps, killed one pack of hyenas, it goes back to sneaky walking looking for the next pack.
  11. Trevor, because he's an Aussie. And he's the only other merc with this combination of good stats for: Wisdom, Marksmanship, Mechanical & Explosives. Then all you need is to max out your IMP with Health, Agility, Leadership, Marksmanship and 30 Medical. The only other merc with Trevor's combination of stats or better, is good ol Gus Tarballs.
  12. Haha, why do people want to micro manage their mercs? Do you also do this to people at work? Let the mercs do their own team level micro management, checking sectors, distributing ammo, reloading at end of combat, ammo count check, take a piss break, smoko, ...etc. It's like the mercs are doing all this by themselves, to free up your time to do other important tasks. At platoon and company level, your tasks are to arrange logistics, hire & fire, transport of newbies, arrange the medical/repairs/crafting/R&R/training, negotiate for more funding, strategic movement orders, etc. You have enough to do already, don't be wasting time looking over peoples' shoulder.
  13. Both our Kalyna are in similar postions, but my Kalyna hit her targets and got the kills. What are the blue colour torso icons in the info description in your screenshot? Mine were the standard usual block shot and graze icons.
  14. Example? 2 red round flashy dots = 2 hostile enemy alerted in the sector.
  15. Yes, game devs knew exactly what they were doing, and were screwing around with us. They put the merc deploy areas here: 1> Building on the right, on top of the flimsy tin rooftop. 2> Building on the left with the solid balcony, deploys on the ground level near the building. 3> Next to the Machine Gun emplacement. So naturally, we are going to deploy snipers on top of the flimsy tin rooftop. What happens? Enemy shoots thru ceiling, hits Buns. Wounded Buns shoots back down at the enemy thru the flimsy tin roof. Bullet makes a big hole in the roof, roof hole gets bigger and collapses, Buns falls thru the big hole down onto ground floor level. YES GAME DEVS, YOU GOT ME! Ha Ha HA.
  16. Nice flanking bonus perk! Did your Kalyna aim down the sights upto 10AP? How's the condition of the gun 90%-100%? Kalyna is s a very reliable shot; but the mercs do miss once in awhile, put it down to 'human error'. Buns always says something funny when she misses like "Let's pretend you didn't see that" or something along those lines.
  17. Yeah nah, this why mercs always carry a secondary. And skilled Mechainics do faster 100% gun repairs, and more successful modifications. Also mishaps are a thing in JA3, so if you want to play with grenades, better to have more explosives skill, not less. And throwing perk. With your A-Team, we're playing with a team of mercs, so don't need to be a Jack of all trades and Master of none. I think better to have a role, and be really good at it. With your B-Team, do or hire whatever merc you like.
  18. Usually (not always), whenever you add/remove any mods, you have to start a new game.
  19. There are mechanical $ explosives journal item in the game already. Probably an easy mod to make these items give +99
  20. Yes, but that is why you have a team. I've got Kalyna and Barry in my A Team.
  21. Uncle Nick is max out (85) on Marksmanship, Agility, Leadership, Wisdom and 30 Medical. Some dexterity, and average Strength. Strength is not a big requirement if you are not the breecher/crowbar guy, grenadier/explosives or heavy weapons guy, and we no longer have to carry ammo. Just carryig the one IFAK medical kit in the back pack.
  22. Why? OK, i figured out H2. Game devs wanted to suggest to you to deploy one merc next to the MG. Hands down, one of the best militia sector defense i have ever enjoyed playing in JA type games. I saved the start, so now, i can go back and replay this H2 sector defense over and over again.
  23. Press G, deploy on ground level. Press T, deploy on roof top level. Yes, JA2 rooftop sniper were way too OP. Game devs are genius, gave us mini puzzles to spice things up. The enemy shoots thru tin roofs. You all were asking for environment destructability, you got it! When your rooftop merc shoots back down thru tin roof, ...well you have to experience that for yourself. LOL.
  24. Haha, game devs left you a mini puzzle to figure out. I'm about to do my first 'defend with 4 militia' puzzle. I will figure it out for you all. I remember in JA2, this was so OP, I was using the militia as bait, and putting my mercs on rooftops to 'milk the cow' for marksmanship skills. I think i upskilled ira in this way. Then in BIA, you had to deploy your mercs about 15mins before the enemy gets there, then go into real time and move/run your your mercs into rooftop position. Then, the enemy arrives in real time, and your mercs are set in position. Game devs are JA players themselves, a lot of game play problems that seem to be in the game, I just see them as JA mini puzzles.
